Max Yu is an award-winning playwright whose work has been seen/developed at The Goodman Theater, Atlantic Theater, New York Theater Workshop, O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, American Playwriting Foundation, Ma-Yi Theater, 大船文化 Grand Boat Theater, Yun Theatre, Gingold Theatrical Group, Orchard Project, among others. Max was featured on the New York Times for being the youngest and first Asian to win the Relentless Award. Max is a current member of Ma-Yi’s Writers Lab, and has been a member of the Orchard Project’s Audio Lab, Page 73’s Writers Group, and Gingold Theatrical Group’s Speakers’ Corner. As a teacher, Max has worked with National Theater Institute and Boston University in addition to running independent classes on playwriting. Max has published poetry and prose in China at Spittoon and Babel Magazine.
